WOOM are vocal collective consisting of Isobel Risk, Ella Rimmer, Lara Laeverenz and Alice Barlow. These four women have found themselves crafting vocal harmonies to angelic perfection over the years of performing across London venues. Half of WOOM (Ella and Lara) are in TMR fave Jerkcurb's live band, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alice and Isobel had their fingers in other pies too. When performing live, the foursome usually weld different covers together, creating their own unique renditions with four-part harmonies, including snippets of songs from James Blake's 'There's a Limit to Your Love', to Outcast's 'Prototype'. However, for their first online release, WOOM have put out an original acapella 'I Built You', alongside a nourishingly earthy video of the four in their gardens, enhanced by the sweet birds' songs that can be heard in the background. Each member appears on the screen individually, and one by one their distinct and soulful voices add a luscious harmony, gradually weaving a rich and colourful tapestry of a song.
